Overview

Curvance is a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol and “everything-app” for yield-bearing asset collateralization, lending, borrowing and leverage - enabling users to supply yield-bearing assets, borrow against them, and maximize capital efficiency across chains. The aim of this project was to craft a powerful launch video and cohesive visual identity to help Curvance communicate its core value proposition: easy, efficient, secure liquidity and yield, all in one place. As motion designer at Refine Studio, I led the design and animation effort to bring Curvance’s story to life, making complex DeFi concepts digestible through clean visuals and compelling motion.

The Challenge

Curvance’s offering is inherently complex (yield-bearing collateral, cross-chain liquidity, leverage, modular vaults, dynamic liquidation & risk systems). The challenge was to distill these technical ideas into accessible, engaging visuals. The brand needed a fresh identity and video that would stand out in a crowded Web3 / DeFi space - looking professional and trustworthy, but also modern and energetic. The launch video had to clearly communicate multiple features (supply & borrow; auto-compounding vaults; cross-chain functionality; leverage; security assurances) within a concise and visually coherent narrative. Ensure consistency across UI design, mockups, animations, and motion sequences so that branding and messaging felt unified and polished.

The Solution

At Refine Studio, we delivered a full creative suite for Curvance’s launch, including: Brand Identity & Visual Language - Developed a bold, modern aesthetic for Curvance using a strong, high-contrast palette (e.g. dark backgrounds, vibrant accents), geometric layouts, and visual motifs evoking liquidity, flow, and tech sophistication. High-Fidelity UI Design & Mockups - Designed UI screens, dashboards, collateral/borrow flows, vault interfaces, yield displays - all styled to reflect Curvance’s identity. Created realistic device and browser mockups to embed within the video for a polished presentation. Motion Mapping & Animation Strategy - Planned motion mapping: defined timing, transitions, and narrative flow for the video. Executed animations including: Smooth UI transitions, vault and liquidity-flow animations Graphs / charts / yield growth visuals to communicate yield / returns / capital efficiency Cross-chain and liquidity-pool abstractions via symbolic animation (to suggest motion across chains and assets) Eye-catching reveal sequences for core value props (e.g. “Click less, earn more”, “Leverage”, “Auto-compounding vaults”, etc.) Visual emphasis on security and composability — subtle but effective animations to suggest trust, stability, and modularity. Final Launch Video Production — Combined brand identity, UI mockups, and animations into a high-quality motion video for Curvance’s launch. Ensured pacing, clarity, and storytelling remained strong — guiding viewers through what Curvance does, why it matters, and how to get started — all in an engaging, digestible format.

The Result

The launch video and brand identity positioned Curvance as a high-end, modern, credible DeFi protocol, helping cut through noise in a saturated market. Complex features became understandable at a glance: users and stakeholders could quickly grasp core benefits like yield-bearing collateralization, leverage, cross-chain liquidity, and auto-compounding vaults — driving stronger interest and trust. Curvance gained a polished, professional visual foundation — not just for the video, but for future UI iterations, marketing assets, and brand communications. As a result, Curvance’s launch communications achieved cohesion and clarity — setting expectations high and fostering confidence among potential users, investors, and partners.
